    Hi

    I have a pioneer cx301 audio/video receiver and a 5.1 setup,

I am useing a optical connection i have the optical lead from my sky going to my receiver, i have it turned on in sound settings on the sky menu. Could it be the optical cable is broke?

Also useing the same cable when i try it through my dvd player i still have no sound, can anyone recomend a few things i could try to fix this problem.

    many thanks

Have you assigned the optical inputs on the receiver to a source? ie optical 1 assigned to the DVD input, optical 2 to TV.

    Mark.
