But, The hum from the back is very loud. Does this go with running it in? Also, the picture is fantastic.

Does anyone have a contact at Segam I could ask a coupld of DTV tuning questions please?

    Thanks

    kmhtkmhtkmht,

Have you received your new Sagem yet? I'm anxious to see what you make of it.

Sould it be making this noice though? Is it a case of just waiting for the bulbs to run in?

Was thinking of getting one of these myself but i don't want to hear a humming in the background. Does everyone have this or just this guy?

Well i got a 50" sagem delivered last week after returning a 45" because of a problem with the sound not coming on, anyway the buzzing from the the 50" was really loud so i phoned comet and they sent a guy round within 48 hours and he said in his opinion it was too loud but he would send another guy with more experience with sagems to have a listen. He came the next day and said yes it was too noisy and that if you can hear fan noise with the volume at 20 or more then that is what is considered unacceptable mine could be heard with the volume up at 40 to 50.The situation now is that they will replace the set on sunday,i just hope this one is going to be ok. I have to say though the picture quality is superb, and the service from comet(Bury in Lancashire) first rate.

It has a fan - so it does make a little noise. Not noticable when there is sound.

It shouldn't be making a massive noise, its like a whisper even when there is no sound.

My replacement arrived today, after they installed it my wife noticed 6 very deep scratches on the frame of the screen, the installer agreed they were unacceptable and phoned his boss who told him to take it away and that head office would phone us later, still waiting.

I have had my HD-D45S (silver) for 2 weeks before it was replaced with HD-D45 (black). immediately after switching on we noticed that the fan was much louder!. it was not possible to hear the D45S's fan noise from 3 meters. but this one is noticeable. not on volume level 40 as with BOBON but during the silent scenes. and i hardly hear it on 10. so it's OK now for me. may be it even ran in after a month of watching (approx. 4-5 hours per day)
