I have a Technics SA-AX7/Pioneer 340 with Tannoy 633's, a JPW centre and a pair of cheap Aristons as the rears(temporary).

The Pioneer is connected to a Pana 36D3DPL via SVHS and to the Technics via phono's as the Technics has no Co-axial or Optical inputs only 5.1.

My first question is would the Sony DAVS800 be a better solution or would it be better to upgrade the centre/surround speakers, also will the Technics still provide me with Dolby Digital thru standard phonos or is a amp or DVD upgrade needed, I do have a Panasonic A350 DVD as well, but I use the Pioneer for my music source as well, hence I was looking at the DAVS800 because this reads CDR's/CDRW's

Any advice welcome with thanks in advance.
