It always stays there and never goes. How do I get rid of it?

    Thanks

Purple...Odd colour. Cyan, magenta, yellow, red green or blue...but purple? Perhaps magenta - this is the nearest colour I can think of. If this is the colour then you have a blocked or non-working green pixel.

First question - what TV is it?
    Second - how old?
Third - how big is this defect?
Fourth - where is it on the screen?

As 'Laurel&Hardy' says you have a faulty Green pixel. If it is still under warranty insist on a replacement tv. There is no excuse for a crt failure like this these days (at any age). Regards, yt.
