I have £1700 to spend on a TV

    I have £1700 to spend on a TV, i own an xbox360 and will eventually buy a ps3 and get sky HD.

    What TV should i buy?!

    I think the 42" Toshiba if the 32" one in Comet is anything to go by... A little over £1700 from one source, has freeview built in also

    should i be looking for a 1080i or 1080p tv?

    I'm new to these formats so bare with me!!!

    if you can get a 1080p plasma for £1700 then let me know where!

    Seriously though, there is no 1080p material to speak of at the moment and there will not likely be any for some time, the 1080p sets are at such a premium that I'm happy to buy something like a PH8 now and maybe think about 1080p in a few years' time.

    i've been looking at the Phillips 32" LCD widescreen flat TV Pixel Plus 2 HD
    32PF9830/10


    it won what hi fi product of the year last year but i read that they are recalling loads due to a problem with the ambilight. If i bought one now would this have been sorted?!!
