Yes I hate you APPLE and YES I HATE YOU IPHONE 4S and OH GOD HOW I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW ITUNES!!!!!

GRRRRRR!!! AAAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

OK I feel much better (not):(

Having the the cant hear the other side on a call issue I decided to restore my iPhone 4S.

Well time came to restore from back up and I get a back up corrupted message

All my photos gone, all my contacts gone...damn you iTunes , damn you to hell.

I wouldn't care but most of the photos where of my 12 month old boy :(

I managed to sync contacts from an older back up but I had recently gone through them and updated them

Luckily I had saved all the photos from the camera roll onto my HHD when I upgraded from the iPhone 4 but have taken a lot since then and videos of his 1st birthday:(

The last backup besides today was from a month ago but I had backed up my phone only the other day and it wasn't there:mad:.

/end rant

Sorry to hear that.

Don't you have a more recent iCloud backup? Maybe one you did just to try? Just an idea...

No, I deleted iCloud a while back due to battery problems.

if u disabled then there will still be an icloud restore u can use

Deleted or just disabled it?

Anyway here's another idea that could help recover your lost data:

Use iPhone Backup Extractor To Recover Lost Data [iOS Tips] | Cult of Mac

Thanks, I'll try that.

I'm sure I deleted it ut even if I didn't it's too old to bother using.

Always test your backup by doing a restore

I'm not sure what that means?

Also to add more insult the battery us totally up to **** now. 20% loss over night.

If you're backing up your iPhone because of change in circumstances such as replacement from Apple store, Firmware Update, Jailbrake etc.

Make sure that you do a final backup and then do a dummy restore to make sure the backup doesn't throw any error during the restore.

Then you're 100% sure that your final backup is not corrupt

Sadly this happens to everyone eventually.

You can't trust Apple's backup on it's own - make sure you take incremental backups of everything associated with your iPhone (apps, music, photos etc) every few months or so.

Otherwise you can go through a whole world of hurt trying to get it back again.

Nice to know you managed to recover a very important part of it
