I have just received a bonus £250 for 2018 from a long term contract of mine. I have the huge hump over it as the club members slated me all summer over the condition of the sports surface and made it quite clear what they thought of me, this is typical to any greenskeeper or groundsman working in sports its part of the job. So I feel I need to return it as I can not except it after what has been said about me and what has been said, so I was thinking of returning it with a thank you but I can not except it and just being polite, my new lady said I am being silly and just take it and put it towards the house repairs as I'm skint. Yes it will pay for the entrance hall flooring and be of a huge benefit to me but excepting it is so so wrong to me I am a proud man and I have stood on my own two feet since I was sixteen. I have found it quite insulting. I would have much preferred a nice letter saying thank you for your efforts of 2018 in a very difficult year. So do I return it and say thank you but I can not except, take the money but its not right ,or say thank you I will donate it to a charity, I do not want to upset the customer as I need the work and have been with the club for nearly 2 decades. Would you take it or return it ? ( I need the cash but to proud and stubborn to except it ) If you return how is best ?
