Ok so I bought a new pwetty 17" LCD from Argos for the bedroom - its currently connected to the downstairs Sky+ box and the picture is terrible It Cant be anything to do with the connection as my previous TV was fine - spoken to tech support and they say you won't get a perfect picture from an LCD on a cable extension. I know I don't know much technically but this seems crazy...are they right?

A perfect picture ? Maybe not. But you should get a picture at least as good as your old TV. If it's from Argos, you can take it back.

I use a 26" lcd in my bedroom fed from the rf2 output of my sky+ and the PQ is actually very good, however it did take a bit of playing with the pic settings. Could be as simple a adjusting the contrast, etc if not then take it back as Nick said.
