Hi. I am new here and to technical stuff about tv's, reason I am here is because I found a nice Toshiba 40LV665D TV, literally dumped at a recycling area. I assumed it wouldn't work but brought it home anyway, sound is fine but screen is totally messed up, all the stuff inside the screen. There was a 3 inch band down the right hand side so could see a film going ok when output to TV from my laptop and the sound was fine, but the rest of the screen i could see nothing. So question is, is it economical to get it repaired or the screen replaced assuming either of those can be done? Anyone offer any advice. TV is immaculate apart from messed up screen. Thanks Photo I got from web, not the TV I got but pretty much what it looks like when turnt on.
