I have (and need) multiple cable runs to my projector & it looks a right old mess.

I need the assistance of a 'specialist' to lift the floorboards above the ceiling where the projector is mounted & run all the cables through so the whole thing is far neater.

Can anyone recommend an organisation or an individual who would be able to do this for me?

    Thanks

    Paul

Might sound daft but have you tried a quote from your friendly neighbourhood electrician? Well used to running cable and would find the job easy.

Adding the initials 'cedia' or suchlike can add a zero to your bill....

Yeah, an electrician would be able to do that for you no problem. You will need to take up the floor covering in the room above though, which may be a pain..

But yeah - I can imagine that all the cable would be a nightmare running around the room! I'm lucky - my HC room is on the first floor, so I just ran the cables into the loft - nice and easy! :)

Have you thought about trying it yourself?

A couple of big screwdrivers and/or bolster chissels will get many boards up, and if you need to saw them for aany reason, you can buy a special floorboard saw for about a fiver or so.

It really is very simple if you look at it.

Carpets will go back if they're held down with gripper rod too - just use the bolster chissel and a hammer.

I just used some self adhesive trunking and run that just under the pelmet near the ceiling.

Cost me about £40 for the lot and even the wifwas impressed at how neat and tidy it all looks (have put some up for all my five speaker setup!) and there are no wires to be seen.

The best bit is that I am a DIY spaz and even I managed to do a professional job !!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I probably could do it myself if I set ½ a day aside. An added complication is that I need to remove some panneling from an RSJ too, so it's not mega simple really and I don't want to botch it up & shag the decoration etc
