    Hi all,
Please forgive my newbie ignorance   ,
I bought a 100Hz Thomson 28" w/s about 6 months ago (budget reasons!). Did I just get sucked into 100Hz mania?

The pixellation is driving me mad!!!

I have an Arcam DV88 connected by QED silver reference to the offending CRT - would a cable upgrade help? maybe a Chord RGB make a difference?

    Any help appreciated!

    Thanks

    Dave

Basically, no. If the TV's 100hz processing is at fault then a cable change is not going to do much for you. Whilst the Chord RGB cable is excellent (and expensive!) you're not going to get that much improvement over the QED cable.

If anything try using the S-Video output to see if it's better than RGB, may as well work with what you've got before buying something else.

Do you have any settings in the TV that can be switched OFF? Video Noise Reduction for example?

Thanks will try the S-Video, unfortunately the TV doesn't have any settings to try tweaking it.

OK silly Question why do you have a £1000 DVD and £350?? TV and an £80+ Scart cable? try turning 100HZ off, (it shouldnt affect your DVD replay though as that (PAL) is a fixed signal frequency IIRC)

Well, the TV choice was down to budget at the time.
It's facilities are somewhat bleak - no option to turn off 100Hz for a start. Not likely to be able to replace it till next spring so was hoping a cable upgrade might help in the meantime. Never mind eh? I can live with it for a while longer...
