If you like your dance music then go and buy Wide(r) Angle by Hybrid. One of the best dance albums I know.

Failing that if you like your chilled then try anything by Kruder and Dorfmeister. I can guarentee you've heard their stuff on the backgrounds of TV shows and ads.

The K&D Sessions is a good double album.

They have a DVD due out some time soon. Will definately be getting that. I've got the If I Survive video on a White Lable DVD which I got in 1999.

I listened to Finished Symphony when it first came out, Hybrid music sounds pritty damm good, quite different to a lot of dancy stuff out there.

I will survive was quite good song, I never got the album Wide Angle but I will get it one day.

There's a couple I can reommend. One is off the Destincitve Breaks lable, called Ministry Presents: The General S'election, a good selection of club music, chosen by clubbers. Double album, CD1 has current (up to a couple months back) tracks and CD2 has a selection from between 1990 and 2000.

Otherwise I can recommend BT: Movement In Still Life.

    Just listening to bt: ima.

Good album, just make sure you get the US import rather than the UK version. It is a double album rather than single and much longer.

I'll second that - in fact i'd say its a fantastic album.
Also worth a listen is Peace Orchestra (one of Pete Kruders many side projects) and Tosca. Both of which are more downbeat than the K&D sessions.

Oh, and while we're on the subject of music, most things by Fila Brazilia and The Thievery Corporation are also worthy of a listen.

    Hello

Just managed to pick up a 'shop soiled' copy of 'Hybrid- Wider Angle', for £3.34, the only problem was the case was cracked!!!!

OH MY GOD, How good is the second disc???

I have listened to it several times already and love it.

Managed to find a few samples on amazon of some Kruder and Dorfmeister stuff, sounds pretty good.

    Cheers

I love the "Wide Angle" Album. The other Hybrid CD called "remix and additional production by.." is also very good. There's no orchestra this time, but it's similar. If you liked Wide Angle, you will probably like this as well.

A couple of other albums which I really like are Adam Freeland - "on Tour". It's breakbeat at it's best. Very good, but breakbeat is an acquired taste - I love thisCD even more now than when I first bought it!

Also, I just bought an LTJ bukem CD "Progression Sessions Japan Live 2002", very good - it's a drum'n'bass CD but it's not as hardcore as some drum'n'bass. LTJ Bukem is known for the jazzy, mellow kind of d'n'b and this is a perfect example. It's live also so it's got a great atmosphere to it, and it's well recorded. Just like Hybrid it's got that "hard driving beat while simultaneously being mellow and smooth" vibe.

The last CD I will recommend is Layo & Bushwacka's "Night Works" very mellow in parts, funky in others. It's a real mix, but pure class throughout-definitely worth a listen. Very unusual and refreshing.

    Later,
    Baz

Although i'm not especially into drum'n'bass I found LTJ Bukem's stuff a bit dull. I prefer more upbeat stuff - Future Loop Foundation for example. Adam Freeland - on Tour is a damn fine album tho.
