HXD870 flickery film strip effect...

Whilst I'm back here, there is another thing that has been puzzling me.

It is not yet a great disadvantage as it seems so far to apply mainly to game shows/panel shows, but:

On certain shows such as 'Would I Lie to You', & '8 out of 10 cats', after some camera position changes there is a black flickering strip with little grey squares on it that flickers about until the camera changes again.

Anyone know what might be causing this? It is OK direct from the cable so it must be some sort of confusion in the dvdr I think. Just not sure what, and hoping its not going to spread!

Cheers,

could be ghosting interference with hdmi and the uhf cable , assuming you use hdmi

this is well documented and changing the hdmi cable and using a good uhf cable can usually solve it

and not using hdmi and checking with scart is a surefire way of testing it

Cheers again Ramjet, I'm using scart though.

Why only certain types of prog affected: it almost looks as it is some sort of clash between foreground and background colour blocks that sets it off: Blue on white/ spreading from the water mark etc.

worth changing the scart for a decent quality one , and disconnect the sony to tv aerial cable as well , then check again , just to be sure its not interference from the uhf channel as I have seen that before on poor scart leads

and make sure you are using RGB as well
