Anyone have anymore news on the supposed re-issue with the missing footage from series 1?

I've held off buying it so far, but as series two is out shortly I was hoping to watch series one again first.

    Hi Gooner,

It's highly unlikely that the BBC will release a newer version of Series 1 of "Hustle", with all the missing footage, as they would then have to pay to get each episode recertificated by the BBFC. (At about £750 per episode, they aren't likely to want to spend that much, just for the missing footage to be put-back in.) The amount of people willing to shell out £20 for an extra few minutes of footage, that should really never have been removed in the first place, is not going to be worthwhile for the BBC to issue a new DVD. At best, all they could do is do a swap-via-post system, for people who want the original, uncut versions, and get viewers with old DVD's to send in their discs, which would then be replaced free or at a very small charge, for the longer, newer versions of the show.

Other than that, I think there's practically a zero chance of getting a new release. Basically, the BBC made a major balls-up shortening the episodes for a DVD release. Your best bet would be to record them onto DVD from a satellite channel, or when the BBC decides to repeat Series 1 again.

According to DVD Review (which could be wrong) a couple of months ago, they spoke to Warner Bros about the missing 10 mins and WB admitted it was a cock up and that they would be re-mastering them and anyone with the original duff copies would be able to exchange them.
