For some reason - my Q100 - when connected by the phono input, hums when the Amp its connected to is switched off

When the amp is on its fine - no hum - but the second its switched of the Rel hums gently in the corner

    is this a known problem

I had a similar problem with a Q200E - but this was a 'buzz' which was cured by adding an earth wire from the earth terminal on the amp to the mains via the earth pin on the plug. However, I still get a 'hum' whenever the sub is on (regardless of whether the amp is on). Sounds like interference between the power supply / transformer and the amp within the sub enclosure.

The only thing I'm thinking of trying is to remove the amp from the sub and put it in its own case. What do you reckon?
