Hi, Could anyone tell me if Humax boxes have an hdmi output that I could connect to an Optoma projector? If not, is there another way to achieve the same result??

All Humax HD boxes sold in the UK by definition have an HDMI output. The Freeview ranges are the HD/HDR Fox T2 and the YouView boxes (The older black cased version is the DTR T1000 and is currently badged by BT for their TV service, the newer silver cased DTR T1010 is the current retail version but is essentially the same electronics in an updated case).

Which box were you looking at as some of the SD models also have an HDMI out.

I'm not too fussed to be honest. A recording facility would be an advantage though.

Although cheap enough I'd not recommend anyone buy a SD Freeview device now unless they are forced to by their budget.

Simply because the DVB-T2 tuners in HD ones will become the 'normal' and 'required' type in the not too distant future.

(9300T £79 vs HDR-Fox-T2 £129). An extra £30 again will get a YouView capable box (offering catchup via the internet if that is of interest).

If the projector is equipped with hdmi it is probably HD Ready and possibly Full HD capable so would benefit form the HD recording and viewing facility (especially as more BBC HD channels are promised - if you are in a location that will be able to receive them).
