    Can anyone help?
    We have our TV attached to a humax recorder (hard drive)Model PVR-9200T. After a year of trouble free viewing we now have a problem.- When we are just watching TV, the picture is fine for about 30 seconds, then the image freezes. If I switch the box off then on again, it works again but then exactly the same thing happens again. If I disconnect box, TV working fine

    Welcome to the forum.

    I am moving this to the PVR section where you stand a better chance of useful help.

    Its possibly down to low signal level. Maybe your outside aerial has shifted slightly due to the weather or strong winds. Perhaps water may have entered your coaxial cable aerial downlead.

    I presume it does not freeze on all freeview channels. The ITV channels are the worst for freezing with low level signals whilst the BBC and Sky channels seem to be the best.

    Try a resetup of the Humax machine with a rescan of channels when the weather is good (no wind & rain, which cuts down the signals). Also ensure that the powered aerial option is set to off.

    Check that your co-axial cable leads are okay. You could also try a TV booster
    (the one outlet type for highest gain) to increase the aerial signal.

    Read the info on this website :

    Freeview Reception Help and Advice

    Your first option though should be to perform a default factory setting on the machine. See Page GB64 of the manual for how to do this.

    Also try a new scart lead between your Humax TV out and the input scart on your TV. A fully wired (all 21 pins connected) scart lead and make sure it is properly secured in the scart sockets at botgh Humax and TV.

    This one crops up frequently.
    A Defaults setting whilst the aerial is disconnected almost always sorts it:
    Switch off at the power switch;
    Disconnect aerial from the PVRs aerial in socket;
    Power on, go into the menus and perform a defaults setting. This will clear all the channels, as well as scheduled timers and personal preferences, but not existing recordings. If you need to, make a note of your scheduled recordings first;
    Power off, reconnect the aerial;
    Power on and allow the PVR to search for channels (if you've previously needed to do this manually due to multiple transmitter reception, do a manual tune as before);
    Re-enter your preferences and use the EPG to rebook your recording schedule.
