I have a Humax PVR-9300T connected to my TV via an HDMI cable, plus a DVD also connected to the TV via an HDMI cable.

I now want to connect my VCR to the system and have connected the VCR to the Humax via a SCART cable using the VCR socket on my Humax, but I cannot select the VCR via the Humax to play any tapes. I also tried the TV SCART socket on my Humax with the same result.

I have not connected an aerial to the VCR as I only want it to play tapes and not record.

My TV is a Panasonic TX-40EX700B.

The DVD does not have a SCART connector.

How do I get my VCR to work with my set up?

You need to add a analogue connection from your 9300T to the TV in addition to your HDMI (TV Socket to TV). The box isn't capable of inputting a analogue input and create a digital output that can be sent via HDMI. To watch the VCR select the VCR input on the 9300T and the appropriate input on the TV.

Thank you for your reply but I do not know what connections I have to add.

Currently I have an aerial connection to the Humax and a separate one to the TV from a duel output aerial amplifier.

Also what would be the appropiate input on the TV, other than the aerial I have two HDMI sockets and a VerHDMI input on my TV.

    Sorry to be a pest.

You need a analogue input socket on the TV (scart or composite video).

Looking for a manual for your TV

EDIT Page 59 Socket 4 AV in

    https://www.panasonicstore.ie/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/EX700-MANUAL.pdf

Scart to Composite Video and analogue audio cable

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eximtrade-...&qid=1532341682&sr=8-3&keywords=scart+adaptor

Switch scart to out and connect to the 9300 TV Scart. Connect Yellow Red and White to socket 4.

Set the 9300 input to VCR scart, set the TV input to AV.

The picture isn't going to be great, it's asking a lot of the TV to scale a VHS source to 4K.

    Graham,

Just to say that I received my cable today and connected it from VCR to TV, missing out the Humax, and it works great and the picture looks fine.

So thank you again for your help.

    Regards,

    JIm
