I have purchased numerous RM replacement remotes and none have ever come with instructions. Hace you tried the power button to put the box in standby?

oddly enough when I wrote this for the rirst 3 days all the power button done was turn it off completely, so I went through the 4 buttons TV,VIDEO,AUDIO, then back to PVR, and now its working as it should !!!!!!!

Other than removing the power it's not possible to turn off a HDR-FOX-T2 completely. It has two sby modes (set from the menu). By default low power sby is enabled which uses the minimum amount of power (turns off RF loop through) and the clock. In either sby state it will wake to make a scheduled recording. Just press the power burron. if it's recording it will return to sby when any recording completes.
