Bought from new donkeys years ago.

Just today it hasn't recorded any scheduled series. These have been set for weeks/months/years.

It was up at 98% full today, is that why? Or has it hit some other (hidden) limit?

Or do I need to switch it off and on again, or some other reset measure?

Wifey says "just throw it away, it hasn't recorded Eastenders OR Bake Off!!"

Suggestions please, preferably for an easy fix. (the Humax, not the wife).

Many thanks

Under diagnostics it says last update July 2012. There are no software updates available under automatic or manual. What update is it referring to? This may be unrelated to the non-recording issue.

Switch off/on (why haven't you already done that as an immediate action?) and then get rid of a load of dross that you will never watch. It's only telly after all.

Almost certainly a lack of disk space meaning failed recordings.

98% of 500GB leaves 2%... some of which is reserved for Radio, and Photos, plus the continuous live TV buffer recording file 0.ts (allowing pause and catchup, rewind etc.,.). Probably nothing left for additional video recordings at all!

The answer is to delete some stuff you don't need any more. Or if you really want it and have the time transfer it off to a USB hard drive for future playback on the same device.

Updates refer to amending the software/firmware the device runs - current is v1.00.21, dated 27 Jul 2012. Newer versions can be transmitted to the box and upgraded automatically via the freesat signals. But since Humax no longer support this box it serves no purpose.

Scrapping a load of dross seems to have sorted it. Thanks for your help.

May still go for an upgrade now I've seen the 1100S.

Someone will likely buy your Foxsat for the CF possibilities alone.

You would find the picture is much sharper. Many think the picture on the Foxsat is 'soft'.

Me included, easily demonstrated as the Foxsat-HDR with the custom firmware can stream it's recordings to a G2-HDR-xxxxS box the picture quality improvement is dramatic. As the recordings are an exact copy of the original digital data any improvement can only be down to the superior Video processing in the newer boxes.
