Just out of warranty too.
Can anybody recommend an alternative.
Don't wants anything with massive HD storage, just decent FreeSat reception and the ability to record a "few" things.
Also needs to be numpty proof.
Many thanks

What is the problem with the unit? It might be fixable.
All the freesat G2 units in Production are Humax units. HDR-1100S (or HB-1100S which you can add an external disk to)

It's not recording any more than 4 minutes of any given programme mate. Plenty of room on the HD so it's not that.

HB1100S £100 + Portable Hard Drive - 500 GB £50 from Currys. Or HDR1100S (500GB)£169.
Other, possibly cheaper, suppliers are available.:D

Have you tried a reset to factory defaults ? The unit had a two year warranty if registered with Humax.

If the reset does not help try :
Setting start and end padding to see if it records then.

You could also try leaving several of the short recordings (so that the unit does not try and reuse that disk area).

If that fails try re-formatting the hard disk.

Humax have suggested re-formatting the hard disk, which I have done today.
The unit is just over two years old by the way.

Re-formatted hard drive. It's now recording, but when you "marker" an upcoming programme on the EPG it's late turning over so you miss the first 5 or 10 minutes......:(:(:(

:(:(Have you got start and end recording times set to Auto ? Does it record alright on say BBC1-HD ?

Is the clock on the right time? :D
