I have seen this stuff on ebay about a 100" screen tv that can be achieved by a sub £10 lens. Whats this like?
    Does it damage the tv?
    Would the picture be dark?

    The results are terrible.

I read a report in a US a/v magazine a little while back which said it was like watching films on a knackered projector whilst looking through a fishbowl.

Back in the Fifties (yes, I really am that ancient), there was a gadget consisting of a water-filled lens which you put in front of the 9" CRT to magnify the picture.

Now THAT was like looking through a goldfish bowl!
