    Hi,

I'm looking to build an HTPC with enough grunt to double up as my main PC. I have a spec in mind and just looking for any comments/experience anyone might have with these bits. Been a fair few years since I've built from scratch (since my 1.4 Athlon) so any comments may be useful:

    MB Asus M3A78-EM AMD 780G
    GPU Radeon 4670 512mb
    CPU Phenom X3 Tri Core 8750 2.40GHz
    RAM OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz
    HD Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB
    BD/DVD LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray
    Cooler Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct
Case Antec Fusion Remote Veris Black
    Power Hiper 530W Black

System will be used for everything from movies and music to software development and a bit of gaming. Anyone see any problems with this setup?

    Cheers in advance!

More hard drives? You would be supprised how fast a 1TB drive can be eaten up.

Yeah, one should do to start with though, especially as I'm not looking at PVR functionality to start with.

Hoping some more direct questions might prompt more of a response.

Anyone used that Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct cooler in this case? Not sure it'll fit. If not anyone recommend a good alternative?

Anyone got a 4670 in the Antec Fusion Remote? Fit ok? Cool enough?

    Cheers...

I would try and get as big a case as possible. I have a 1GB GeForce 9800GTX+ and it needed to be "modified" to fit into the case.

I know the scythe mini ninja fits in that case, and is a pretty good cooler as I've got my overclocked Q6600 under one, and I run it passively (as the case fans in the Fusion are so good).

I've also got a 4870 graphics card in the case, and it fits, just. Until recently I have the first generation with the old cooler, and I had to bend one of the internal dividers in the case slightly to get the power leads at the back of the card, but I've just changed and the latest cooler is fine, so your 4670 should be no problem.

Cheers. Think I'll go with that cooler and stick with the original case. Hoping that as there hasn't been any major negatives from anyone that everything else will be ok! Lets spend some money! :smashin:
