HTPC Screen Resolution Issues

Distinguished Member
I have recently built a little Mini-ITX pc to serve up music to my home cinema for audio and output a std windows image to my TV to navigate via Itunes or WMP. However the image on screen is of a really low quality, rendering it unreadable. The output is via S-Video and the TV is a 28" Widescreen Sony Wega.

Any suggestion on the best settings to make it viewable??. What is the minimum hardware spec I'd need to get a decent image. Super high quality is not required as I only want be able to use a media player not use it for gaming.

The problem is that S-video will never give you a great picture. All you can do it set the screen resolution as low as possible to give you 'big' text to read.

I know you have no money (at all) but this is why I replaced my Sony CRT with a Samsung LCD TV connected via VGA.
