HTPC 12v problem

I am trying to build an HTPC using a DFI motherboard and an Antec PSU.
The problem is, is that the motherboard has an 8 pin 12v socket but the PSU only has 4 and 6 pin connectors. Can I use an adapter such as this one?

Or will it "blow up" as my friend elequently says? It's an SLI motherboard, but is only using one graphics card, which is an ATI X1800.

it will work...the intel 955xbk and 975xbx boards use the 8 pin socket, and they ship with that exact same adapter cable in case your psu uses the 4 pin arrangement.
