HTML Based Universal Remote

Hi guys I've been reading this forum for years now on all sorts of topics but have never posted until now. The company I work for is looking for a HTML (or web browser based) universal that is capable of semi complex macros not long operations just very specific on audio zones to be exact. It must also be able to distinguish from and control identical pieces of equipment in different ways i.e. two identical receivers doing two totally different things. It also must be able to handle changing any of up to 10 running operations at any given time. I don't mean to be rude or offend anyone, I know that these are all qualities that remotes out there have, but i just wanted to be kind of specific in the different operations that its going to need to handle. Also this is something that our company would like to roll out with their product.

Thanks,
PRea

I guess you could use any of the current generation of tablets/phones to do something like this and there are software apps out there for it (iRule etc) but I'm not sure about specifically browser-based solutions? As far as I'm aware, these apps support most of the "off-the-shelf" IP/RS232 control boxes that will connect and control your kit directly via their built-in IP/RS232 protocols (if they support them) or will convert and push out infra-red (if the devices don't).

The key thing here is that the equipment you're controlling must have a decent IP/RS232-based protocol implementation for your to perform two-way comms with it. Most modern/high-end AV kit will support one (or both) of these things and have a rich set of commands to pretty much control every feature the kit supports. For amps/receivers in particular, you can have full control of sound modes, volume, zones etc.

You've been quite vague in your original post about WHAT you're controlling exactly (and what it's doing) but I guess that's for commercial reasons? Are you able to provide more detail??

Thanks Loada! Basically I will be controlling two Denon 3313's most likely a Draper projection screen, a epson Projector, 7 flat screens, media server, pc, blu ray player, multi disc cd changer, and a hdmi matrix ( I know this is the wrong place for this question but can anyone suggest a hdmi matrix 8x8 over cat5e/6 that will handle simultaneous operation I.e. one input to one or more screens while another inout to one or more screens?) set-ups are of courser going to differ from hometohome slightly but this is for our showhouse which will neon multiple Green Living and energy efficiency tours.
Thanks for the help,
PRea

I think you mentioned the word "neon" in your original post which looks like a typo - did you mean "need" or perhaps "offer" (predictive text error)?

Logiciel queried the word and the confusion continued :)
