Had my HTC One about a week and had taken a few pictures but not too many.

Anyway took a few today and first 3 were fine, then noticed on the 4th that it wouldn't focus.

Tried everything - off on, settings reset, and even installed another camera app to see if it was just the stock camera. But still blurry.

Noticed that it happened after I'd zoomed in and zoomed out again.

Does this sound like a hardware failure which means it has to go back?
I guess I'll have to do a factory reset tonight which is a pain as I've just got it how I liked it.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi mate not really a solution but, I have the same problem and have noticed on other site its an HTC firmware problem. When I look through the view finder the picture is blurred on the left hand side. I have tried using zoe, hdr, changing ISO but doesnt help. I am with 3 network and they told me to try factory reset and had no affect. Getting new HTC one sent out and replaced. Should have stayed with my Galaxy S2, had no problems at all with that.

I'm also having a problem focusing. It was fine and then all of a sudden, without changing any settings, boom, I couldn't focus on anything - picture quality is awful. Mine is on the Three network so I think I'll have to go back tomorrow and exchange it as it's still within the 28 day warranty!

    Hi Zidane

Have you managed to sort the problem or replace the handset? I returned mine to Three and replaced with the Samsung Galaxy Note II - completely different beast and I miss the sound quality of the HTC One but love the bigger screen! IF they resolve the issues with the camera on the HTC One camera, I may get one later on - trade in for my SGNII! Hope you other 'chaps' have managed to sort the problem because the HTC One is a truly beautiful phone. :D

I also have the model from 3 and have the same issue. The phone absolutely fine and then boom for no reason no focus ability. Odd how many are from 3.

I tried every setting, different light conditions and a full reset.

Will try for an exchange. It's a shame as moved from the s3 and love the one but pics are pretty much a major part of my phone use!

Just a quick update, I sent the handset back and received another. Since then everything been fine with camera.

Although I have to add that overall I don't think this 2nd one is as good as the first in terms of smoothness in games and the build quality not quite as good either.

But nothing significant enough to send back again.
