HTC Explorer for radio streaming

Hi,

I'm looking for a smartphone to stream radio stations while a work. I currently use FM radio and the reception is useless most of the time. I would be steaming for 8 hours per day, and wondered if the HTC Desire could handle this? I could always carry a spare battery I guess. Would 2 batteries manage 8 hours of streaming with the Desire? Or maybe there's aonther smart phone on the market that would.

Thank you.

I don't think even two batteries will last eight hours. Streaming is constant internet use, which means the relevant radio circuit in the phone (Wifi or mobile data) is continuously active. Even an external rechargeable battery pack would struggle to last. Is there any way you can power it from mains or the USB port of a PC?

The android app I use is branded with my local station, but is obviously one that many stations use.
The quality is automatically selected depending on the connection bandwidth (restricted if connected via 3G).
