I recently modified my X-Box games console to HD output. This was done via a "Soft" mod., which switched the Box to NTSC and then HD through Component output. I then bought a Component/"S"/Composite to HDI convertor, which feeds into the HDMI input on the Sim2.
If I use the component output from my DVD player into this convertor, the picture's fine, and it's fine from the X-Box until I switch this to HD. I get a picture, but it's two images side by side on the screen.

I would appreciate any help on this! :lease:

You need to make sure that you select "Component 32kHz" in the input menu.
Later firmware versions have an Autosync facility which will lock onto a 15kHz or 32 kHz source automatically.

    Hi Tony,

It's exactly as Jeff has said.
This also fooled me for a while so you're not the only one.
I do find that some games look as good with the inbuilt scaler so try that as well.

Thanks for the info. chaps. I'll give this a try when I (eventually) get home.

Err...There doesn't seem to be the option of changing this on the digital input, or am I missing something perhaps?

Use the 0/AV button on the remote or alternatively
    Button 4 / 15 khz = inbuilt de-interlacer (make sure Xbox 480p is off)
    Button 6 / 32 khz = HD (Xbox 480p is on)

Thanks for all your help Spike. I've got things working eventually by going through the Component input, but there's a dodgy connection. My (excellent) dealer's kindly lent me his Domino projector whilst mine's being fettled. This doesn't have a digital input and the picture isn't as big because my HT300 has a different lens to allow it to be mounted closer to the screen.

However, the picture from the X-Box in high definition is something to behold! I just selected input 6 on the remote, which was set to 32kH, & bingo.

Mind you, I'm still cr*p at the games, but at least I can see very clearly what's killed me in Halo 2!
