    Hi all,

Thinking of upgrading my HT300 (not +) over the Easter break but I'm a little confused as to what is the latest software version.
I'm currently on 2.07 and Alan at Owl kindly sent me 2.09 but because this involves me blagging a laptop to do the necessary I thought I'd see if there was a newer version available?

I've read about 2.13 but am a little unsure as to whether this applies to the HT300+ only?
Would this be compatable as I know there have been some issues between the two projectors and software versions?

    Any help appreciated

    :)

Where can you get the software as I have a HT300 and do not wish to make a 120 mile round trip to update the projector.

    Hi Zaphod,

Personally, I'd recommend you call Owl, the UK distributor for Sim2 projectors.
Their Technical Support number is 01825 745600.
They will be able to answer all of your questions.

    Hope this helps you.

    :)

I’ve now had the chance to evaluate V2.13 on my HT300 (not plus) and am absolutely delighted with the results. I had V2.10 previously and before that 2.07.

With the previous software versions, I fed the PJ with a progressive signal (NTSC & PAL) from my Toshiba SD-9500. Although this did have some other minor issues, feint vertical banding in some dark scenes, the results were generally superior to using the HT300’s inbuilt Faroudja chipset.

V2.13 has changed all that, with the improvements to the handling of the faroudja chipset by the new software, I now find that using an interlaced feed gives superior results to progressive. Although progressive performance also seems to be marginally improved, the improvement to interlaced performance is a revelation.

Well done Sim2, a really worthwhile upgrade.

    Hi chips,

    Have to agree :)

For me 2.13 has been an excellent upgrade giving much punchier colours and even sharper detail.

Not quite as grounbreaking as 2.07 but not far off IMO.

I'm using a progressive feed from my Arcam but had heard of the improvements to interlaced - maybe I should give that a try?

    Regards

Yes you should ;), I'd be interested to hear if you notice the same improvements as I have :D.
