Looking to buy a HS50 this week, but have a few questions before I take the plunge....

No.1 Have found a localish stockist that has one in stock at a good price, but they can't demo it as they have no facility to do so. Is it worth the risk buying one of these "blind" so to speak

No.2 Have read the excellent reviews and comments on this PJ, but have not seen one in action. Will I reall notice the improvement over my Sanyo Z2, and will the performance inprovement (if any) over my Z2 justify the cost?

No.3 Currently running a Denon 2910 to the Z2, will this be sufficient for the HS50 running via HDMI?

Any help would be really appreciated as I don't want to end up making a costly mistake.

And yes, this does mean that my Z2 will be up for sale :D

    Ta.

    Jason,
I have had mine since Friday and have watched a fair amount on it, if you can get one thats in stock and you really want to upgrade then dont stall and get it.

    If you have a look at the other posts of mine I have dumped a load of screenshots here;

This may help, remember the pics off my dig cam are not as pure as the orig image itself (so to speak) but I hope these help in making a decision.

if you have any questions please give me a shout - more then happy to help out. Where abouts are you based?

    Hi Tone,
Had a few PM's from others raving about the HS50 and how amazing the picture is.
Had a look at your stills, thanks for the link.

Gonna go for it after reading everyones thoughts on it.
Just called the shop and reserved it for pick up tomorrow.

Will post some pics of it all setup when I've got it.

Just another quickie, will it fit on a ceiling mount, and if so which one?

    i'm in grimsby btw :D

    Cheers,

    Jason

I have a Unicol GK2 and have ordered a "universal plate" so that everytime I change the PJ I wont need to change the mount/plate.

I would recommend LMP they are serious value for money and the only reason I didn't buy one was that 2 years ago they didn't have anything that was height adjustable where what I have has a range of 4-23 cm.

I think you will notice the diff. I did not see much difference to make me pay £500 for a HDMI enabled DVD player and get the cable laid, but if you have the setup already then go for it.

    Cheers
