    Picture Mode: Standard
    Contrast: 75
    Brightness: 60
    Color: 50
    Hue: 50
    Sharpness: 50
    Black level: High
    Gamma Correction: Gamma2
    Color Temperature: Middle
    DDE: Film
    Iris: On
    Lamp: Low

Got these off AVS and they are very good, but I still get some reds that are too bright and very slight patches of slight green haze on faces occaisionally. I only watch TV at the moment, but apart from stuff like Classics TV, most of it looks great including Eurosport and CNN. Sky Movies are excellent so far.
Any one got some settings to share? Whats the best way to turn down the red without messing up something else?

Your problem might be because the settings were done for NTSC sources, try a Region 1 DVD and see if the issues are less pronounced.

I calibrated my TV with AVIA but find the colours too heavy most the time, probably because the DVD is NTSC.

Couldn't see a RGB setting option in the manual so slight adjustments of the Hue and Sat are your best bet. You can memorise settings so you may have to create two modes, one for PAL and one for NTSC.

Get the Digital Video Essentials (DVE) NTSC & PAL versions, then calibrate User1/User2 for each type of disk. Depending on what you are viewing, select your stored settings for that type. Have calibrated my HS10 as User1=NTSC & User2=PAL/SDTV/HDTV

sounds like a great idea, will do the same.

Can someone who has done lots of experimenting, post their pal settings?

Mine hasn't even arrived yet but I would appreicate starting from a good base point.

NTSC ones should be close and there's normally only a couple of slight adjustments to get good PAL from that. A lot of people just pick the average between the too and use that for convience.

Having the User memories does back it handy for switching thou.

It's not much use posting settings as every pj is setup differently when tested at the factory. I tried some settings from AVSForum, they were ok but not as exact as if you calibrate yourself.

    Use Avia or DVE ;)

Nevertheless Kramer I would still be interested to try out anyone settings for the HS20, as I found the ones I posted useful to me. I am using a matt white Ellie. Does Aria work over a TV sourced picture?

    My HS20 arrived today.

Can't wait to get it home.

    robertwhyte delivered as promised.

will start with these settings and see what happens.

Can anyone explain the iris thing?

I know what an iris is, but do all pjs have them? if not why not?

I have a blackout room anyway so how should I look at setting it up?

A few newer projectors feature irises, seems to basicly trade off some brightness for higher contrast. Not had one to play with but results seem to vary between projector models.

just plugged in and all I can say is wow.

first thing I notice is how quiet the fans are by comparison.

Not much in it so far picture wise.

connected via component and svideo only but then have only been using input from a composite video source.

dont have a dvd player at the mo to plug in, never mind one with progressive scan output.

the ax10 converts to whichever signal you connect by.

868 is on back order and hdmi cable hasnt arrived yet anyway but so far am ecstatic on the basis of quieter fans.
