Must admit i dont really notice the fans on mine in cinema black mode as i have it mounted in the coffee table at presant..

Its a great pj and for the money i think cant be bettered..If a little noisey...and pron to faults....but hey cant have everything:rotfl:

Hi,I have owned two hs10's.the first one i had had four dead pix all grouped together in a big bright blue dot in the middle of the screen.
I got a exchange i have since found one dead pix in the bottom corner.but out of about three million you cant notice it.

pixels dont die, dead pixels happen during manufacturing. As time goes by you just notice them. Some people will only offer return or exchange if you have more than a couple.
However since you have startup and fan issues i would get an exchange.
Dont let this put you off the hs10 it is awesome, especially with hcpc.Other projectors in this range cant match the resolution.:rotfl:

'err, that's not entirely true :( Pixels can & have failed. Granted, most are defective from manufacture, but it's not unknown for a PJ to "loose" a pixel over time.

Sony seem to have tackled this pixel issue definitevly, using a "redundant array" type feature with 2 transistors allocated for each pixel. Very few (either here or over at avs) have commented on pixel issues.

You seem to have purchased from one of the best retailers in the UK - give them a call. I'm sure they'll "sort you out".

    Best of luck ;)

Yes, at Nexnix they told me that loads of HS10s have dead pixels, which is why they increased the price of their optional dead pixel check.
