hi Just bought a new N54L micro server with the initial intention of it being used as a NAS. OS is Windows 8.1 64 bit Stock 250Gb Seagate (OS drive). 2 x WD RED 3TB drives (for music/movie content). 16 Gb RAM All drives are located in standard drive bays. After initial installation problems with the Broadcom NIC driver, got the Windows OS up and running. Initially disabled the on board NIC (to get the OS to install). The upgraded the firmware from HP to 2013.10.01 (Nov 2013) Then with on board NIC enabled, restarted the server, updated the driver from the Broadcom site. So far so good. Then went into Disk Management to create a mirror using the 2 x WD Red 3tb drives. There is no option to mirror these 2 drives, only stripe (which I dont want). Having read other posts in these forums, I understand that I could enable RAID in the BIOS and install the OS again, but seems that would not offer anything that should be possible from within the OS itself (but with the added negative of not being as portable). I have tried searching the web without any success in finding a solution to the mirroring option being missing. Could anyone offer a solution to this? All help appreciated.
