    Hi there,

Can you confirm the processor for me? I'm trying to look around and can't really find it. This is my first Microserver so early days for me.
    Can you confirm the height?
    Is collection an option?
Can you confirm the health status (power on hours etc) of the hard drives? I don't overly need them so would probably sell them on but need to know their condition.

Apologies for the questions, just wishing to make sure I know everything given this is my first Microserver :)

Hi, the CPU is an AMD Turion Neo II and the unit is 27cm H, 25cm L and 21cm W.

Collection is fine :) I can run a health check tomorrow when I have a bit of time.

Actually, I'd take the lot (delivered) including the drives as is here and now on the premise that the GFX card is removed and price revised. Is that possible?

EDIT - Offer withdrawn I'm afraid mate, I've just picked one up off the Bay.

Just to confirm the edit I made above, I'll have to withdraw the offer as I've managed to source one from eBay.

added some photos of health status for the 3TB drives.

Sorry sparky, it is a pain to remove the GPU and post separately so would much rather sell as a bundle.

    MrG , no problem :)

it is about 3 years old and drives where purchased at the same time. I used it as a remote server to play films via Plex and it was fine but I never used it directly to play movies so cannot say for sure about stuttering etc but I say that it would be absolutely fine as it has a dedicated GPU. Holds four HD's and I think that lots of people install a 5th on ( usually SSD ) instead of a dvd drive.Loads of info on the web about these servers asthey are soo popular.

I think my price is fair especially as 3tb drives sell for over £50 each 2nd hand.

I was using whs 2011 on it.

Not sure what you mean about maximum tb but there are 4 disk caddies so potentially you could add a couple of 8tb hd's to the 6tb already in it.

I had mine in the spare room so sound was never an issue but these servers are NOT particularly quiet and I would find it quite annoying if I had it in the living room :)

Nope can't confirm as I never needed antymore space :-( I haven't touched the bios since setting the server up originally.

Server ran 24/7 for about 18 months but not used for last six months since I found it eaier to just stream live tv instead :)

No worries :) I know people use 4 x3tb on the older N36L so Iwould expect it would be able to at least match that

    Hi

Have wanted to get one of these for a few years now but have always been worried the setup may be too much for me.

I currently have a Mac mini with some external HDDs hanging out the back full of movies. iTunes running for ATVs along with plex.

I'm now at the stage where I need some more storage and rather than buy yet another HDD I would like to consolidate them all into one unit.

I'm not overly server savvy so how easy would it be to take your unit, add another 3tb and 2tb I have, along with a spare ssd, to make some sort of single storage unit with data redundancy such as raid 5?

    Thanks

to be honest I am not server savvy at all so only ran the os on a 250gb hd and then 2x3tb hd inraid 0.

    this link may help you

HP Microserver N40L Build and Bios Modification

or other forum members may be a bit more clued up :)

Also bear in mind that this does not have an O/S installed so you will be setting it up from scratch which I found easy under whs2011 but think a lot of owners prefer freenas.

Thanks for the offer but too low I'm afraid. If we can meet in the middle at £150 then we have a deal but that is as low as I can go.

    Hi
Still deliberating on this. Still unsure if I'm up to the task and if I can afford it.

Would you be open to collection with delivery cost being knocked off accordingly?

If so, could you pm your post code and I'll work out if it's viable for me?

    Thanks buddy
