I have a hPn36l running Home server the c drive has around 60gb allocated with the d drive being empty. recently the c drive has been full all the time, i have seen a few threads on the internet about using cc cleaner to clean the old logs as this takes up a lot of space but i have done this several times and it obly clears a small amout before filling up again a day later. I have also made sure that the windows updates are not waiting to install taking up space.

I cant work out what to do now, it is obviously greatly affecting the server performance as i use it run xbmc too.

    any advice?

It would be worth installing the MS disk cleanup tool. I haven't tried this on Home Server 2011, but as it's derived from Windows Server 2008 r2, these instructions should work. I'll give it a try when I get home.

OK, you need to find out what's filling up your C: drive. On my Home Server 2011 system the C:\ drive is 60GB and only around half full. What applications do you have installed ? How much RAM does your system have ?

There's a programme called "TreeSize" that can scan a disk and show you where the space is being used. I like it because it "aggregates" the totals for the sub folders which makes it really easy to drill down to the culprit.

Here's a link to the free version (check out the screenshot...)

TreeSize Free - Quickly Scan Directory Sizes and Find Space Hogs

(Mods - I'm not affiliated to TreeSize, just been using it for 20 years or so.)

Cheers used tree size and found that the server had been storing videos converted for my iphone on Air video server. Plenty of space again now
