    Hi, first post.

    I'm looking at an HP DV9658 from PC World. However, I can't seem to find any information about it on other sites. I know that sometimes PC World and Currys get to use exclusive model numbers, and wondered if anyone could tell me if this is the case here.

    Also, i've got a voucher for £800 to use on a laptop from currys or pc world. Is this laptop a good buy, or worth putting £50 towards getting the Sony VGN-AR51J ?

    Many Thanks

    Paul

    Here's the info on the hp, on them companies support website.

    http://support.thetechguys.com/layo...}&CatID={02af43ad-5d49-431e-8ad9-649f711bf7b4}

    the sony one should be on there as well.. if not... it may be on there in the next week or two..

    BTW, the only thing i have noticed on some of the DV9600 series was on the DV9650 (amd version of the DV9658) a batch of screens went out with 1 or 2 dead pixels.. so may be worth firing the laptop up in the shop before u take it. This wasnt a huge issue and ive only seen it on about 4 laptops, but i know some other places have had some of the same

    Thanks to both of you for those links.

    One more quick question. The laptop I had was a DV8219ea. Great for everything I needed except the keyboard was awful. Does anyone know if this has been rectified in newer models?

    cheers

    I aint come across the DV8219ea yet... but it will be a different keyboard on the 9600 series... the one i was working on the other week seemed ok to me, but just try the display model keyboard and see what that is like.
