    Hi.
I'd just like to know how the Rotel RSX-1056 is with stereo?

Also, can you tell me. it comes as 5.1 sound and you have to upgrade it to 7.1 sound, is this right?

    Thanks

I would guess it sounds darn good. I don't have the 1056 but i've got the 1068 and 1070 power amps.

The 1056 is only 5 channel so i'd recommend buying a new or secondhand 1070 2 channel power amp to power the front left and right, leaving the in-built 5 channels for the rest. The 1070 would make more of a difference for stereo listening then it would for movies.

I have auditioned the Rotel RSX-1056 with a number of speakers in a stereo setup (B&W, Martin Logan, Energy Veritas). This receiver performs very well in stereo to say the least. Almost as if you were using separates. I was very impressed. Right now I own it's bigger brother the RSX-1067 for a 5.1 setup in one room and a stereo setup in another room. I couldn't be happier. There is no doubt in my mind that you will like it. Good luck!!

    Hi,
    Thanks for replys.
    It's a real shame that it's only 5.1, I need a 6.1 amp at the least, as I have a 6.1 speaker setup,
I dont really want to buy extra power amps, as i dont have the space
