I would like to connect my Hegel HD12 DAC to my Marantz SR6010, so I can connect my computer to the receiver. But should I use the phono input or optical?

I would hazzard a guess phono input as optical is digital.

Thanks for the help. But for some reason no music will play, when using the usb input of the DAC, and connected by phono cable to the receiver. It is the input labeled phono on the receiver I should use right? Or is there something else I am missing?

If you have an AUX on your reciever i would use that

Don't use any input labelled "PHONO" ubless connecting a turntable. Such inputs are intended to be used only to connect a turntable. Use any of the other RCA analogue inputs apart from the PHONO input.

What audio are you hoping to canvey to the receiver via the DAC?
