Question How to use Cortana hands free without having to use a Kinect?

Hi,

As the title says really, I have a bunch of smart home products at home and my business account is with Microsoft as I use their products for work. I'd like to use Cortana to control the lighting etc at home as well as add events to my calendar etc - but I hate the idea of having to buy a Kinext to use Cortana hands free. Basically I want to turn the Xbox into a smart home hub ala Amazon Echo or Google Home. Are there any other solutions? small mic in the controller maybe?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There is no external mic apart from the Kinect. The controller you’d need a head set plugged in. Tbh you are going the wrong way with this. MS have Alexa (and I think Google Assistant) working for Alpha users in the US to control the Xbox with instead of using Kinect which is all but dead now.
