A friend of mine has owned a 360 for a while now but until recently he didn't have a broadband connection. When he tried connecting to live he couldn't have the gamertag that he was using so he created a new profile. Obviously he now realises all his achievments/gamerscore and game saves are attached to his old profile so he wants to try to get this profile online. If he deletes his online profile from his xbox, can he then rename his old offline profile and then sign into live with this?

He needs to turn on his 360 and using the offline account go online.

He will then be told that the account name has been taken and he will have to create a new one, just go through all of the steps and at the end he will have a new gamertag but with the old achievments

This just got a whole lot more complicated. I thought he was on his free gold month having only just got broadband but no, he has paid for a 12 month sub on the profile he wants to ditch. I'm guessing there is no way now he can transfer his live sub to his old profile so he'll just have to bite the bullet and stick with his new profile.

    Am I correct?
