    ....mind-numbinly boring tv. Auditioning for musicals, ice skating, ballroom dancing, X-Factor singing, being stuck on an island with no grub, being stuck in the jungle with no grub. Is there no end to this pap?:lease:

    I know what you mean. I am so sick of reality TV. We must not watch it. Watching will only encourage them to make more.

    Agree totally.

    If its not one of those shows you mentioned, its Top50 lists!!

    But the one that cracks me up is 'Classic Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'.

    Execs must have thought, 'call it classic and it will allow us to repeat old episodes'.

    Also, in my opinion, there was only ever a couple of classic episodes - ie the ones were the million was won. How can you show a guy winning £125k and call it a classic show?

    I have found that over the last year my viewing of TV has fallen dramatically due to the amount of crap on. I used to spend hours channel hopping. Now I don't do it any more cos I know I won't find anything!!

    Now I just Sky+ certain shows (Lost, Sopranos, Peep Show, Derren Brown etc) or interesting docs, and watch them in my own time.

    I have always said that its a shame that you couldn't get football on Freeview, cos if you could my Sky dish would be down tomorrow.

    ^ He speaketh the truth

    Main reason why I've spent about close to £400 since September on DVDs - a) no TV in halls b) not missing out anyway, so need something to take its place

    The awesomeness of my collection more than fills the void of no-TV in my life. And no ads :smashin:

    The main reason for ***** tv is sky. More channels leads to less choice.

    Advertisers pay far less to tv companies as there is so much competition for their revenue.

    Broadcasters then have a much smaller budget to produce tv shows.

    They try to appeal to people that watch the most tv, housewives, chavs living on benefit etc, channel hoppers, and they figure the way to do that is with celebrity endorsed cheap tv.

    The birth of reality tv.

    More competition = less variety = 100s of tv channels with the same thing on.

    I quite like the 'reality' shows :oops:

    In fact we should lobby ITV to make "Moderator Idol" where the eventual winner becomes a Mod and thus receives the adulation of thousands.

    Ian J could be the Simon Cowell type judge;
    Mep could be the jovial/bit of a fool Louis Walsh type judge;
    and we could put Mylo in a dress, give him a toydog, and he would make the perfect Sharon Osbourne type judge.

    :smashin: , now pass me the phone - I'm off to contact Ant & Dec :D

    Patrick Moore is spot on and the BBC has been run this way for the past several years. (for better or for worse!)

    There are the run of the mill "Reality TV" shows, which I hate, then there is Big Brother. If I expressed my real thoughts about this utter tosh I would get an instant ban for inappropriate use of profanities.

    If it wasn't for some of Skys channels showing repeats, my eclectic tastes wouldn't be satiated through re-watching such classy series as Frasier. Oh and Futurama. Bender rules! :)
