I want to buy a system which has at least a CD player and AM/FM tuner, but I want to buy separate speakers that would be able to connect to the system with a long cable (about 3 metres long).

Can anyone give me any suggestions of what system and separate speakers I can buy for under £80 together and what cable I would need to connect the speakers to the system? It's not supposed to be state of the art hence the low budget, just something that can be used in a really small room. I just want it to be stereo, not mono and there's no need for a subwoofer.

I like the look of the Sony SA-VE155 speakers. Is it possible to buy them without the subwoofer for a cheaper price and would they be able to be connected with a cable to the separate system?

    Thanks a lot.
