Anybody give me some advice.

I've sold my Mac and need to reset to factory settings.

It's currently on mountain lion and i have the original cd.

I tried to put the original osx cd in to reset it but it says i can't install it with the version of osx currently on it.

You need to boot up from the cd (by holding down c as it boots)

Then when you get the option to install the OS, click the box to erase the disk.

Alternatively, just create a new user - make sure it has administrator rights, then login as that user and remove your existing user.

Thanks. Just did it that way and it's now resetting.
