    Hi folks,

I have an 1993 Hyundai Sonata that I'm planning to donate to a charity group. It has a Pioneer DEH-P6500 car radio/cd player. I would like to remove it and install it in my little toyota pick-up.

My problem is that I dont know how to remove the head unit. Do I need special tools?

    I welcome any ideas.

    thanks,

Yes, you will need a set of these. They go in either side of the head unit (you may need to remove the bezel) & unlock the HU from the cage. The cage itself will just be held by tabs that have been bent inwards.

    Figure 7 here.

    Edit
Link seems a bit temperamental. If it doesn't work the installation PDF that I'm trying to link to can be found by searching the manual database for 6500 from here.

    Crocodile,

Thank you very much for your response. I'll see if I can get a set of these tools.

    Thanks,
