I am thinking of building a media PC.
Is there any combination of hardware and software that would allow me to record two TV channels and watch a third, simultaneously?

From the stickies it looks as I need the Vista TV Pack, which is not freely available. Is this still the case? Might it be included with the forthcoming Vista SP2?

Is up-to-date information on the registry hacks available on this site?

i'm sure that with three tv cards you can do that. i've had two connected to mine in the past and had no problems. as long as you dont have any issues with hard drive writing speed and have decent enough throughput (cpu power, ram and motherboard) there wont be any problems.

im sure media centre should be able to accept 3 cards, will have a look though.

Windows Media Center - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    although it says further on:

    on microsofts website (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-media-center/pc-tv-on-windows-vista.aspx):

what i would say is that you need to investigate into hacks. the other option is: what are you outputting onto? surely if its a tv with freeview then you can use the tv to play and have the media centre recording in the background.

Easy - VMC + TV Pack (google for it) = 4 Tuners of any type

I have one hauppauge HVR-4000 and one Nova-T-500 for
    three tuners - no problems
