Just bought a copy of New Order's CD single from E-Bay, it has the True Faith video on it, but i can't seem to get it to play on my DVD player, or on my PC. It is shown as being track 4 on the label of the CD, but media player etc only show 3 audio tracks. I've tried a few programs to see if I can even get the video track off the CD, but no luck.
The person I bought it off reckons it would have been designed to play on a laser disc player which were around when the CD was released.
Anybody know of a software player which might play it?

I have a large collection of CDV discs and I know of no software player that can show the video portion of the disc. If anybody knows different, please let me know.

I still have my 1750 LD player precisely for this reason, as no optical disc player produced in the last 15 years can play the video portion of CDV discs. :(

EDIT: In all honesty, as the video is stored in an analogue format on a CDV, you'd be wiser to trawl the internet and download a digital rip of the video.

Cheers Andy. Never mind i've already got a DIVX of the video, not too good quality though. Thought i might get a better one with the CD.

Yep, you need a Laserdisc Player. Nothing else exists AFAIK that will play these.

meansizzler: If you haven't ever come across CD-Video, then you won't know that what's on the fourth track of CD-Video singles is in Laserdisc format (analog video in an FM carrier with PCM sound). And as far as I know, no PC software exists to read such tracks. It's possible even the drive won't read them. Re-installing Windows really isn't going to help.
