I'll try this tomorrow with my amp. So far I can control the volume with the amp's remote, the MCE remote, and my Logitech Harmony..soo..one more will be even better. :D

William I take it you like Sony!!:D

I have the same TV and also the 970 recorder as well as sky HD. Hopefully will add new kefs and onkyo amp soon!!:D

I will obviously have to use this for the sky remote as it is always useful.

    Yep, I'm a massive Sony fan. :D

I just don't like the way some of their stuff is a bit overpriced. :(

Just in case anyone is struggling with a Denon amp, I found at Digitalspy that someone used the code 1388. I tried this with my AVR-2801 and this worked, where the two code listed above did not.

can someone advise me please if after doing this programming for your amp will it still control your TV functions (e.g. volume)? Or is it a case of one or the other? Cheers

With mine, the vol up down buttons on the remote continue to control the tv after the programming. It is the blue triangular up and down arrows that control my amp volume. The left blue triangle toggles them amp in and out of standby, and the right one mutes the amp.

Yes, the volume will still work for the TV via the volume control. Up+Down in TV mode control the AV Amp volume. Left is power and I think right is mute.

There is also a "punch through" feature which will reverse the above. This means that the volume controls will control the AV amp volume in TV and Sky mode.
This is probably the most useful if you use the AV Amp all the time, as volume on Amp can be adjusted without switching to TV mode.

    To program punch through:
    Press TV
Hold SELECT and 1 until the light blinks twice.

    To undo this feature:
    Press TV
Hold SELECT and 0 until the light blinks twice.

Original details courtesy of AlanJ and abailey at DigitalSpy and Automan's website.

Presumably you can't control the TV volume anymore if your controlling the amp?
Also, anyone have a code for an Onkyo Amp?
    Thanks

If you are in Sky mode you can control EITHER the TV volume OR the AV Amp volume, depending on the punch through setting - but not BOTH.

When you are in TV mode, you control BOTH volumes. Which is controlled by the standard volume controls will be set as per the punch through setting. The other device will be controlled by the UP/DOWN cursor keys.

Edit: One for All lists the following code for Onkyo receivers:
    Onkyo 0135
One for All are owned by Universal Electronics, who also make the Sky remotes. The Sky remotes therefore use the same codes, just with 28 added (presumably to try to disguise this):
To convert from a OneForAll code to a Sky code - Add 28
To convert from a Sky code to a OneForAll code - Subtract 28

    So you should try 0163

I tried this on my setup and when I pushed the button to enter the last digit of the 4 digit code it just changes my tv channel - tried 4 times now and it does exactly the same each time

Just tried it - doesn't work (old Sony amp).

Doesn't bother me that much though as I only ever use my Logitech Harmony remote, or the MCE remote.

Cheers fot that. Worked a treat (3806).

Anyone know if there is a button to switch the input e.g from DVD to TV?

EDIT: Seems rewind changes switches modes e.g stadium, matrix, wide screen etc and record button put to DBS input (doesn't cycle it tho).

0189 is the one for all code. You need to add 28 for the Sky+ remote. Try 0217.

Which model of Sky remote do you have? This only works on Sky+ remotes.

One for all codes for Yamaha are 0176 and 0186, so try 0204 and 0214.

I'm glad some found this useful, I am not an expert on this, I just picked it up somewhere else.

Did anyone find which button changes from external decoder (dvd) to tv for a yamaha amp?
