How to obtain a copy of a property lease

Is it possible to obtain a copy of a lease agreement for a commercial property?

Can I get this online in the same way as company account or land registry title registers are available?

If HM Land Registry has a Copy, then you can obtain a copy from them. They will have a copy for certain if the lease has been Registered.

Not all leases are Registered though. However, sometimes they will hold a copy of a lease just because it is pertinent to do so in connection with other title documents that they hold.

There will be a Fee to pay and this will depend on whether they hold their copy in either digital or hard copy form.

Check out with them direct (rather than using a more costly service/agency to do the same thing for you) at: Land Registry - Land Registry for England and Wales

Of course, the Lessor (Owner/Landlord) will hold a Counterpart Copy to a Lease and the Lessee (Tenant) will hold a copy of the Lease. Either might be willing to provide you with a copy for a small fee. You will know who best to ask depending on the circumstances.
