My Sony DVP-D725 is region 2 only. What's the best way of going about getting it modded and what 'features' should I be looking for ?

Should I send it away to a specialist, if so who would you recommend, and how much will it cost ?

I'm located in Co. Durham and also spend a large part of my working week in South Yorkshire if anyone has any recommendations.

you'll have to get a hardware mod for this player. Can be done by your self if you're handy with a soldring iron, otherwise you'll have to take it somewhere to be done, or send it away.

Tincan I have sent you a private message regarding your question.

Could you forward this to me aswell as private message as I am thinking the same about having my Sony 725 chipped for multi region by Techtronics.

As you have dealt with them your insight is gretly appreciated.

    Cheers

I would rather shave my testicles with a chain saw than send anything of value to Techtronics.

I am also looking to have my Sony DVD player upgraded to region free. I have had a look around and found that Techtronics will collect your DVD player take it away and put in a multi mod chip and then return it to you for £85. http://www.techtronics.com
If anyone has used Techtronics in the past please let me know how they performed with their customer skills and workmanship.

Thanks people, it looks like I have saved myself a lot of wasted time and effort by posting a thread here. Can't really believe that in this day and age a company can perform so badly and still stay in bussiness. This site really is the the dogs danglers for anyone wanting to purchase home entertainment equipment.;)
